Volunteering and internships
The EISS is run entirely by volunteers. Contribute to the work of the network remotely, at around a day a week, on the Anthology and on the Annual Conference. Open to students and to recent graduates alike.
What this looks like
Work that carries your name
Contributions to the Anthology are credited by name, and if you write a brief it is published under your own byline.
Students and graduates
No enrolment is needed to volunteer with us. If your programme requires a formal placement, we can sign a convention de stage: just tell us early.
What you would work on
We match this to what interests you rather than handing you a fixed job. Most volunteers take on one of these, and many move between them.
Corpus and abstract indexing
Tracking down the abstracts of papers given at earlier conferences, checking them against the programme, and adding them to the Anthology so the record is complete.
Researching and writing a thematic brief
A short piece on one of the Anthology's research themes, drawn from the papers already in the corpus and published on our blog under your name.
Improving the database
Strengthening the data behind the Anthology: author names and affiliations, links to published versions, and the connections the Atlas draws between papers and people.
Annual Conference preparation
Helping the team get our flagship event ready, from the call for papers through to the programme. Part of the year for everyone here, ourselves included.
