Where EISS started

The first European Initiative for Security Studies conference, convened in January 2017 at University Panthéon-Assas, brought together scholars from across Europe to build a shared forum for security studies — the founding act of EISS.

Keynote: Professor Sir Hew Strachan (University of St Andrews). The conference was organised around nine permanent thematic sections that the ESSC still tracks today.
